Water Balloon Relay

At hot picnics in the summer, we cool off by playing water balloon relay, tossing water balloons back and forth in a catch style game until one breaks. Then, the side that breaks the balloon has a game of chase and if they can douse the other side with a new water balloon quickly they can resume the game of catch. If not, they go for a short relay with a water balloon they can't break or the other side wins.

At the end both sides are rewarded with cool watermelon slices and orange spice iced tea...


Recipe for Orange Spice Iced Tea:

I use 4 mandarin spice tea bags, fill a pitcher almost to the top with boiling water and steep the tea bags for 5 mins. Then, I add liquid honey to sweeten and finish off by adding a can of sprite. Finally, I cool the tea until ready to go for the picnic.

I use seedless watermelon which I slice in squares and rectangles to serve with the tea.
