Girl Stuff, Issue #013 -- Christmas Pearls and Party Games
December 07, 2006
Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love the smell of fresh Christmas trees, hot apple cider, and scented holiday candles. There are so many fun holiday parties to attend, Christmas plays and cantatas to enjoy, and best of all, we get to spend special time with family and friends.
If this is your first issue of Girl Stuff, you can get your complimentary Beauty Tips e-book by clicking here! The password is only available to those who have subscribed to Girl Stuff and therefore not included in the back issues. I hope you enjoy the information and beauty recipes.
Use the recipes to make some homemade Christmas gifts. There are several luxurious bath milks, herbal tea recipes, and body creams that would be perfect for holiday giving.
If you love pearls, you'll have to take a few moments to enter our Christmas Internet Scavenger Hunt. There is a beautiful pearl necklace of choice available to one lucky participant, as well as makeup and jewelry gift certificates.
Also, for anyone participating, there is a Christmas Pencil Puzzle Ebook, a Family Activities Advent Calendar, and a Christmas Penguin Cross Stitch Pattern available just for playing. Use the the pencil puzzles at your Christmas party, use the advent calendar for ideas on how to celebrate daily Christmas activities with your family, and possibly take up a new hobby of cross stitch by stitching the cute Christmas penguin.
For an active holiday game, try a Reindeer Relay.
You'll need one pair of pantyhose per team and a bag of balloons (at least four balloons per team member).
Divide the teams into two groups and put one chair per team at the starting line and one chair per team at the opposite end of the room along with a bowl of balloons per team. Give each team a pair of pantyhose to start.
On your "go" the first member of each team races to the opposite end of the room, blows up and ties off four balloons, and shoves two down each leg of the pantyhose. Balloons MUST be pushed down into the leg area.
Next the team member puts the panthose on her head, so as to look like a reindeer with antlers, and runs back to her team. She then takes the panyhose off and bursts the balloons by either sitting on them, stomping on them, or any other means she can think of.
When the balloons are popped the pantyhose are passed to the next team member in line who repeats the process.
The first team to complete the relay, incuding popping the last set of balloons, wins!
We played this at a Christmas party last weekend and it was so fun. You might want to tell your guests not to blow up the balloons too big or they'll never get them down the legs. Also, be sure to have plenty of extra balloons on hand. They sometimes pop when they come in contact with the pantyhose.
If you're stumped for last minute Christmas games, there are some professionally designed ones available at Diva Girl Parties and Stuff at a minimal cost.
We used the Human Bingo and All I Want for Christmas games at our last party and they went over very well.
