First of all, I must apologize. It's been a while since I sent out a newsletter... a very long while. I have no idea where the time goes, but it just seems to disappear.
I have to say that fall is my favorite time of the year, perhaps because I was born in the fall, but never-the-less, I love the crisp air, the scent of harvest, and the anticipation of Christmas, every party lover's dream holiday.
It's Thanksgiving here in Canada today and I can smell the turkey roasting in the oven... YUM!
But enough about me... I have to tell you about the coolest game I recently found. It's called
What's a Dame to Do?!
and it is without a doubt the ultimate girls' night in game. Talk about the perfect tool for bonding and laughter among friends. You'll love it so much, you'll be planning girls' night in events on a weekly basis. All you need for a fun night in is a few friends, the game, snacks, and refreshments. Nothing could be easier!
On a more serious note, October is breast cancer awareness month and most of us know someone whose life has been touched by this disease.
Many of us also know those who work vigilantly toward raising funds or in some way contributing to the research for finding a cure.
I like to call all of these amazing people my Heroes in Pink. They instill hope, they inspire, and they work toward a brighter future for women's health.
This October, let's take some time to recognize our Heroes in Pink. I've devoted a special page at Diva Girl Parties and Stuff where YOU can share about your Heroes in Pink.
If you know someone whose been touched by breast cancer or has contributed in some way to finding a cure, please stop by our Breast Cancer Awareness Month page and honor them with a tribute or message on how they have inspired or touched you.
Fun Activity
The air is getting a little chilly and the lure of warm pajamas and evenings around the fireplace are beckoning. Yep... the lazy days of summer are over, but the perfect season for a slumber party is upon us.
I don't care how old you are, a sleepover with the girls is still FUN. Chatting and laughing for hours, watching favorite chick flicks, snacking on forbidden treats, and just enjoying each other's company in the most relaxed atmosphere ever created for womankind simply cannot be beat.
No excuses! You can plan an adult slumber party and your friends WILL come. They've been secretly wanting to attend another slumber party for years. They remember, just as well as you do, how fun it was.
If you feel stressed for an activity, check out the game I mentioned in the intro. It's a sure fire way to get the party and conversation rolling.
Okay, so you may have to figure out a scheme to get your male residents out of the house, or at the very least confine them to the garage or a small area of your home, but if all else fails, there's always the option of renting an hotel room. Where there's a will, there's a way!
Do NOT let Spring 2009 arrive before planning YOUR next slumber party. Your friends will thank you. I promise!
