My Internet Treasure

Diamonds aren't a girl's only best friend anymore...

For the Love of People ...

I was raised with a great love for people, all people, no matter what their background, race, social standing, financial means.

There was rarely a Christmas when my parents didn't invite someone over to the house (who was either lonely, new to the country, newly divorced, down on their luck) to share our family Christmas with us.

Our home sheltered over 60 foster children for varying lengths of time over a 25 year period. Our phone was always ringing; there was always someone whose life was in crisis and needed help. My parents gave sacrificially to so many even though we lived on hand-me-downs and prayer.

black and white photo of a woman I was raised not only to have a deep love for my own immediate family, but for the biggest family of all... the people of the world.

It isn't strange, therefore, that I work at a charity. I love my job and I love helping people.

God has blessed me with talents in a lot of different areas which I try to use as much as possible on my job. I have often been asked why I don't pursue a more lucrative line of work and I have pondered that question from time to time, but my heart is with serving people and, therefore, I am content in my choice of work.

For the love of the Internet ...

What an amazing tool the internet has turned out to be. I love everything about it. It's so great for research, communication and best of all it affords me the opportunity to pursue some of my other talents without forfeiting my greatest love... serving people.

I have been intrigued by the idea of starting an internet business for many years, but the whole idea of it seemed overwhelming to me. I read numerous articles, ebooks, manuals, and anything else I could find to give me the knowledge and the courage to plunge in and start my own website.

After what seemed like a lifetime I finally came across something that made sense to me, a company with all the tools I would need to build my business for one uncomplicated yearly fee. The name of the company was Site Build It, and the bonus I discovered after signing up was free access to the incredible SBI forum family, the kind of supportive and self-sacrificing family that I am familiar with in my day-to-day life. There is no question too big or too small and patience for assisting newbies is in great supply.

I decided to make my first site about parties too, since people are always asking me for ideas and advice. Besides, I've hosted so many parties in the last 25 years that I have a wealth of experience to draw from.

After researching my ideas in accordance with the SBI Action Guide, I decided on a domain name and put my first website page up at the end of May 2005. I continue to be amazed at how well my site is doing. My traffic is steadily increasing and my Alexa ranking is in the top percentile on the internet. (You'll find my site listed under Entertainment, just a few below Elad's cool birthday party site.) I am now making a full-time income from the comfort of my own home, while still being able to perform well at the 9-5 job I love. Website building is so much fun that I have also started a Scavenger Hunt site.

Site Build It is this girl's best friend, my internet treasure. It is an outlet for my creativity and an income opportunity for today and also for my future.
