Coin Search

All of the adults at our family reunion pitch in a few dollars worth of coins; pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters...Sometimes even a few half-dollars and dollar coins. A 5-lb. bag of popcorn is then dumped into a cheap, plastic kiddie pool along with all of the assorted coins.

5 children at a time bend over the pool, holding a ziploc baggie, and using their hands, rummage through the popcorn, picking out the coins. (Along the way, some of the younger children also like to eat the popcorn. Ha Ha)

When all of the children have had a chance to rummage for coins, the 3 children who have collected the most money get to pick a prize from the family reunion prize bucket. It's a favorite game of everyone's at my family reunion. There are lots of laughs, giggles, cheering each other on and applause.
