Dress Up Tradition

by Maree Anne Rosetta Kent
(Canberra, ACT, Australia)

Our tradition is that on Christmas day my whole family dresses up in Christmas costumes. We spend Christmas with my nan. She wears a long red dress with red tinsel sewed around the bottom and the top. Also, the sleeves are tinsel. My pop wears the same red jumpsuit sort of thing with tinsel sewed around the leg holes and around the arm holes!

My mum and dad also follow this tradition and wear green the same as my nan and pop but my brothers and sisters wear the following:

Carla wears a gold dress with no sleeves - a sleeveless dress with gold tinsel sewed around the top and bottom of the dress.

Myself Maree and my twin sister Isabella wear silver dresses with silver tinsel sewed around the top and bottom.

Nathaniel wears a silver suit like dad and pop.

Kyal wears gold suit like dad and pop.

Our family tradition is a weird one but everyone enjoys dressing up and on Christmas day anything can happen!
