Family Christmas Ornament Exchange

Family Christmas Ornament Exchange

Presents can be expensive, especially when you have big families like we do.

We put a twist on the traditional gift exchange by exchanging Christmas ornaments instead.

We list all families with their addresses on a piece of paper. Then we put the same families with their addresses into a hat. Families get matched with the names pulled out of a hat going down the list.

Families get notified by mail or e-mail about who they have to send the ornament to and get surprised with who will send them an ornament.

It's a lot of fun, especially with the kids. They love putting that special ornament on the Christmas tree.

Pictures get taken and exchanged and it seems to bring our family closer together even when we are in different places during the holiday.
