Singing the 12 Days of Christmas

The Singing of the 12 Days of Christmas (the Sillier the Better)

My Aunt Blanche has a glass set which depicts the 12 days of Christmas and as the 12 of us sit down to dinner, we actually pick our seats based on the glass assigned.

As the antipasta is being passed around, we each 'sing' our part. Everyone sings "on the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me" - but whoever has a partridge in a pear tree belts it out. The funnier accent/act the more fun. "5 Golden Rings" sung out of tune by a hopeful soprano... is always a big hit. We all laugh so hard... as you have everyone being creative over and over. Noone ever wants to be the Partridge since you gotta sing 12 times.

This of course can be done with place cards etc., and when the family is more than 12- we have 2 people sing a duet. Oh what memories.

Talent show
by: Anonymous

My family is musical and enjoy singing Christmas carols. We have implimented a "talent show" where the children perform. Some sing, tell jokes, perform a skit, play piano or other instrument. When the talent show is done we assign numbers and we all sing the 12 days of Christmas.
